Cubing fails, things you shouldn't do, etc

As a veteran twisty puzzle solver, not focused on speedsolving, I've got a few do's and don't.
- Don't get too involved with the layout of your original beginner's method choice! Learn the cross from different angles, pay attention to what the layer two and last layer algorithms are actually doing, etc. Understanding the puzzle is half the battle and you'll be amazed at how much more you'll enjoy the solve if you actually comprehend what each of those basic algorithms are doing!
- Don't fall into the CFOP trap! It's not the only speed solving method out there, and it may not be the one for you! Explore, try other methods, not only will they help to expand your understanding of the puzzle, but you might enjoy one of them more.
- Don't get too terribly wrapped up in WCA puzzles! The twisty puzzle world is gigantic, and steadily growing. Explore, learn more, you might be surprised at how much you appreciate the more complicated, less traditional puzzles.
- Don't get too focused on time too early! Sure, some solvers might get sub 20 quickly, you may not. It goes back to what I said before, understanding the puzzle and trying new methods may be what you need to start showing more improvement.
- And most importantly... HAVE FUN!! After all, these things are technically toys lol.
