Anti-Sune algorithm

I don't really understand this thread. It seems like @SpeakCuba is being deliberately difficult. It's really quite simple on why the posted algorithms are better. RU gen often requires a lot of overworking and can have tricky obstacles. With the variety of algorithms @Jorian Meeuse and others have provided you shouldn't even be thinking about that R U2 algorithm. Solvers like Yiheng and Ruihang as well as Kyle have shown that TPS is very important and all the top LL executions are done with more advanced algorithms. The R U2 algorithm is so simplistic and honestly pretty slow.

Now, of course, there is a balance between movecount and TPS. Some of these algorithms are quite long and might be hard to memorize for simple minded people. That's why I recommend this lesser known, but debatably faster, algorithm. Here it is: z U' R D R' U R D' z'.

What's nice about this one is not only is it insanely fast but it sets you up to J, L, Na, and Nb in the situation that they arise. WB executions have been set on these PLL's that begin with a z. Simply look at some of @ruffleduck videos, a person I'm sure would root for the algorithm sequence I provided to the general public.

I agree, it’s just way shorter, and the fastest alg I can find. I’ve learnt it when I was learning Ortega.
Funny, but it was the same for me.

I learned the lefty in the beginning and used it until I found this one on the Ortega Algsheet 😜
I guess in the beginning it was easier to mirror algy to the left than learning an additional one, even if it was just the inverse.

For 3x3 I sometimes still use the lefty if the top layer is already in the right position for it, for 2x2 I always use the inverse Version

Apparently people are genuinely confused, so I may as well clear this up

R U2 R’ U’ R U’ R’ *is* the Antisune algorithm, and the only correct way to do it (with, yes, a lefty U2 flick). There are other ways to solve that case, (a popular one being the anti nikilas) but none are as quick as the antisune. It is quite literally one of the best algorithms in all of cubing. Don’t ever use any other alg for that case unless you’re learning COLL/ZBLL/etc

And yes, it is the inverse of Sune. Hence “antisune” (Sune is R U R’ U R U2 R’)

I can't quite tell if you're still being passively sarcastic. R U2' R' U' R U' R' is a fast sequence for the anti-sune but it's by no means the quickest or the right one. I actively use all three in my solves depending on the position of the U layer and my recognition. I consider them all to be equal in speed, however, for me personally I find lefty sune and back-sune to be faster. This isn't objective, it's just what I find to flow better. Despite this, I still use anti-sune because it's not slow enough for me to do pre-AUF so I can get a preferred angle. They're just that similar in speed.

Unless you're very comfortable with L moves (in which case you would probably just use lefty sune), the lefty sune can be performed as r' F' r U' r' F2 r.

Wide moves are quite risky and usually not worth it though.

thank you for saying this, i was very confused

I use R' U' R U' R' U2 R, and I actually find it faster than regular sune as my left pointer (which I use for U') doesn't move when I do R moves, unlike my right pointer which I use for U.
