SpedCube's Progression

Been working all day to get a sub 6 ao100 on 2x2, so far made it to 6:08. So close, and yet, so far....
On the bright side, turns out, the MGC 4x4 was 20% so it was 15 dollars instead of 20!!! Cant wait. Also, got my PB ao5 today, 4.63. Really enjoying it so looking forward to when I get my new 2x2 soon (I have a very bad one rn).
Also, I'm in a predicament:
My goal is to be able to do all WCA events in cutoff time by the end of the year (I'll probably go by US National's cutoff times as a reference), but I cant get to many comps due to work. Maybe I'll make a compilation of videos on google photos or something to prove that I did it, who knows, but oh well, the goal is still the same.
What 2x2 would you get?
The worst part about buying cubes: Waiting for them to come in the day it's supposed to arrive. Any minute now....
Also kinda sad when you look out the window for a long time, and nothing comes. So you leave for literally 15 seconds and then it arrives

I love it. Stable, nice strength magnets. Decent corner cutting. For the price, I'd say go for it if you're considering it. Needs some lubricant out of the box, so keep that in mind, but I love it.
Ah ok, nice. I would only have considered the Flare, but for some reason the price for it went up by ~$5 on all sites.

By the way, I cannot figure it out, how do you lube a 2x2? Preferably without taking it apart.

Ngl, I just drop a few drops into the cube. I do try to put some on the pieces, and Ill prob take it apart later today. 2x2's are fairly easy to reassemble.

Coolie cool, but where do you put the drops? That’s what I can’t really figure out. And I’m afraid to take it apart; I don’t want to break it.

I am hoping I’m not annoying/bothering, but I do want to make sure… sorry for the bad pic in advance, but do you mean the inner part of the track of the corner piece (the white part), or the very inner part? (Where the red arrow is pointing to)…(Click on the picture for it to become in-blurry).

Nah you're fine, im glad to help! I actually do both. The inner core parts I do, and the edges of the pieces, because they rub to together a lot

I've been putting it off, but finally decided to make a progression thread. Here are my times
3x3:
PB Single: 14.35
PB Ao5: 19.46
2x2:
PB Single: 2.70
PB Ao5: 5.24
4x4:
PB Single: 3:11.22
PB Ao5: 3:14.80

I also do some megaminx, but barely any timed solveds. Usually around 3 minutes. Also do some pyraminx, but not my favorite.
My main goals is to be averaging sub-15 for 3x3 by the end of the year, sub-4 on 2x2 by learning Ortega, and learn all of the WCA events by the end of the year.
I use Cfop. Just 2 Oll algorithms left, and one Pll, Y Perm.

Edit: My goal is to be able to do all of the WCA events in cutoff time by the end of the year.

Nice! Your 4x4 times are way better than mine. One main reason is I've been struggling memorizing the OLL Parity Algorithm. But nice times nonetheless!
