True, it isn't even classified as a speedsolving method, only for novelty.
Last year or in late 2020, can't remember, xyzzy, me and some others theorized how to make Yoyleberry more viable and how to integrate CSP into it so that method has a lot of practicers missing if we want it to get big.
agree, i will not have to learn csp. but it's good if you know a lot of algs for it. and i do

You completely missed my point. We tested Normal CS - going to Barrel-Barrel - using the Method against Modified CSP that leads you to Barrel-Barrel directly and doing the Method Non-Parity each time and saved like 5 Slices on average.

Lin

a lot of you say the methods I use/Proposed are bad. tell me what method I should use in your opinion.

I got a 5.7 with Vandenbergh once.
But you don't think that I know what I'm talking about just like I don't think you k ow what you are talking about so you are in a standoff with half the forum currently.

So the top three methods as of right now are Vandenbergh, Lin, and PBL. These would be the most recommended methods to learn.
If you don't want to learn too many algs I recommend Lin as it only requires 17. Vandenbergh is by in large the most popular. PBL is less popular but still incredibly fast => link here for that.

SSS1M is almost indistinguishable from Vandenbergh so there isn't much to say on that. Could be considered a variant as it only differs in one step. Skwuction is a relatively old method that hasn't seen much use. The main drawback, as said by the fastest user, is that Last 5 edge pair algs have poor recognition. Perhaps with more development this method could have more potential but as of now it is not recommended. Screw is another method which is similar to Lin although Lin is again just the better method (more development, faster users, etc. Simularity wise it could be seen as a variant of Lin). Yoyleberry is the last one and as everyone has noted it is not suited for speedsolving. It's a very cool method, don't get me wrong, but it has poor ergonomics due to the barrel barrel reduction. Although it avoids parity it, overall, may just be faster to execute a parity alg. Even more so CSP has been developed which negates parity altogether.

You can use whatever method you'd like and should choose it based on what you enjoy the most. If you're looking for fun with the best mix of speed I would recommend Vandenbergh, Lin, or PBL. If you want to be a trailblazer and don't mind putting in a good amount of time developing a method then check out Skwuction.

I was just randomly messing around with my squan and I found the alg below for I-L with the I at front + back and the L at front + right.
(0,-1)/(3,0)/(-3,0)/(3,0)/(-2,1)/
Is it any good? I'm finding it faster than the normal alg
Note: It swaps UBL - UFR on the top and DFR - DBR on the bottom. Also, except for the non-oriented edges and DB, the rest of the edges are preserved

Back in 2016, when I was making the EO+CP alg Sheet I would have loved this case as I didn't know it(or forgot in the last years) but since the focus shifted to the Top Guys utilizing PBL, this is less useful.

I can solve pretty much every WCA puzzle except for Square-1, and I would like to learn! I can solve cube shape intuitively, and I can finish using an algorithm sheet. But how do I get started memorizing the algorithms? They are so different and some are really long and complex. Any help is appreciated!

I finished learning all the beginner algs, and now I want to improve. I've been practicing square 1 for about 4 months now., and I average low 50's.

You can improve at basically every step
Learn all if EO and CP. It's basically nothing and the algs are short.
New EP algs sprinkled in. I'd say get all the U Perms and maybe EPLLs in first.
Scallop-Kite. Improving your cubeshape will entail Scallop-Kite. 50s was when I started learning, most people started later. If you get EO, CP and 3-4 EPs out of the way first, you'll likely be at 40 anyway so you can safely start with that.

This thread is here to help all of you fella's that are looking to get some tips for the Square-1, also it is here for people to ask and share algs and methods they use. If you post in this thread and aren't getting a reply within a few days then feel free to message me and I'll do my best to get you some assisstance.

I will also try to keep up to date with all the links posted in this thread and compile them in this first post for you guys. Play nice.

Can you maybe turn in a video? So that we can see where you lose all this time. It's not the cube.

Not to be a brag and especially not to be rude, but I timed myself learning Sq1 and my first solves.
My first real solve was 5min and my second was 2, so I can't exactly see where you are losing all that time averaging 4 minutes.
Keep in mind, I was using a picture for reference for CS and a piece of paper for Adj Parity, my only EP case.
