Does everyone else on here have a lot of friends who are into cubing?
I feel like there isn't anyone I know personally (not through the internet) that is in to cubing..
It's kind of frustrating. Everyone just thinks a Rubik's cube is a kids toy..

Hello and welcome to Speedsolving.com.

When I first started, a friend of mine started cubing with me, and we've cubed together since. Through the years, we have taught probably 50+ people, but none have done anything more than sub-40 or so.

Don't be discouraged, I see you're in Denver. I live in Golden. Where in Denver do you live? We have a Mile High Speedcubing group for all the locals in the Denver area, and there are quite a few of us who get together every once in awhile. Will you be attending the Denver 2009 competition in April?

I'm right downtown on the Metro State/UCD/CCD campus. I had no idea there was a speedcubing group that's rad! I also had no idea about the competition in April, where will it be?!

In my school ,I have two cubing friends(one is Sub-40,the other is Sub-1min).I was the one who taught them. There was a craze in my school in 2008 as in Singapore, there was an advertisment about Rubik's Revolution. So Rubik's puzzles began popularizing.I was one of the very first few people who knew how to solve it.

Now,mostly girls are the ones who still bring cubes to school.
My suggest to you is to teach somebody (your best friend probably)Then let him teach others once he has mastered it.Solve during recess and attract crowds and Inspire them!

I have many. Just none living near me.
That depends on your definition of friend and near :D

I personally don't really enjoy cubing that much anymore. I enjoy travelling with my friends much more and cubing just gives us an excuse.

You will soon find out that the cubing community isn't just a bunch of nerds sitting in an attic, solving their cubes. We meet as much as possible and exchange ideas, experiences and generally act stupid ;)
