[Help Thread] Cubing Injuries?

My left index-finger hurts every morning before it gets warm, I don't know the word for it in English, but my finger is injured from cubing too much...(belastningsskade in Norwegian)

Other languages are so precise! :p

I got one of those papercuts in between not one, but two of my fingers. I called it a day.

Well sometimes I get a cut on my finger, usually from scouts activities. I just love playing with knives. So yeah, some occasional cuts that just annoy me when cubing. Also sometimes I get carpal tunnel from cubing too much after a long break.

My finger slipped under a tile on the cube and it cut me. Couldn't use my finger for a few days because it hurts just touching it.

I HATE THAT.

Ummm, while sanding my 3x3, i inhaled like, a LOT of cube dust, and when i blew my nose, i saw the particles in my snot O_o.

Also, it was in my mouth and it tasted nasty, I believe it got into my lungs. D:

About a year ago I had my car parked at the side of the road, which was sloped toward the curb so that gravity would pull the driver's side door closed. I was juggling some cargo as I got into the car and the door started closing before I was all the way in. I put a hand out to stop the door before it closed on my leg, only I ended up getting my leg in on time while my index finger got smushed in the door. T-T No cubing for a week.

wow, thats gotta suck. but thats really funny in the same way :D

I had serious wrist injuries after the 24h cubing (only right wrist, left was not that bad) 1 week of bandaging, etc. for about 3 weeks I couldn't really cube.

The only "injury" I had while cubing was when I first started speedcubing back in the days, trying to use those fingertricks for the first time proved tiring enough for my fingers :p

I was black berry picking and i got a small splinter stuck in finger, it was impossible to get out because of the pain and how small it was
and i couldnt cube for about 4 weeks, because whenever i used it it would hurt to the extreme
eventually, my finger healed around the splinter and poped it out by itself
i thought i would never be able to cube again!

I scalded my hand when I was carrying a hot bowl of noodles to my table.
Because of it I could not cube for 2 days.
After that, it wasn't as painful and I was able to cube again.
(Luckily it was before School Term, which starts at the first thursday in January 2009, and also before Singapore Open 2009, or else I would be unable to compete)

And an injury which wasn't as serious was two days after Singaproe Open 2009.
I was solving my friend's (unusually) tight Rubik's cube when suddenly I felt a tinge of pain on my thumb.
I think it was Rubik's Thumb (though I still highly doubt it actually is).
I had to wait for half an hour before I can finally solve cubes again.

Only this close to an injury cause BY cubing is dropping the cube on my man zone.

This is similar to mine...
I don't have a large enough area to put my Stackmat on, so I use my lap. I had a really nice scramble that got me a PLL skip. I slammed my hands down, but I didn't realize that the timer was right on top of my "thing". :o
