3x3 X-Man Tornado V2 - I love it!

Putting stickers on top of a stickerless cube is interesting to me. Not sure if it's WCA legal.
It's not. It violates 3d
3d) Puzzles must have colored parts, which define the color scheme of the puzzle and must be one and only one of the following: colored stickers, colored tiles, colored plastic, or painted/printed colors. All colored parts of a puzzle must be made of a similar material.
I wish I knew this before trying to compete in square-1 for the first time. I was using a stickered volt and the yellow stickers had a weird problem with the adhesive and half of them would constantly fall off, and I just reapplied them with a glue stick. That worked for a while but eventually, I had enough. I figured since people use a black side all the time, I could just not have stickers on a side to make it black. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to compete with my volt. I was the only person in my group at the time that actually did square-1, so the only other option I had was to use my friend's super old and janky shengshou.
Good idea. I ordered some stickers. Wish there will also be a stickered or Black version, which should look better than stickers on this version. I think stickers will make the cube even quieter or sound softer.
Crazybadcuber made a video where he used rit dye to turn a stickerless zhanchi into a black one. However, I'm not sure what the piece design is on the Tornado. If it's a capped design it should work fine, just do the colored parts and not the black internals. But if it's all one piece and cannot be separated then your not going to be able to get away with using this method since it uses some chemicals that can harm the magnet system.
(Ignore the title this was made before stickerless cubes were made legal in the WCA)

Why is this age restricted?

Why is this age restricted?
I have no idea why. The closest idea I have as to why is that it uses acetone, which can be harmful. But there are also some boron treatment tutorials that use acetone and those are fine. When it comes to youtube I assume there is little to no reasoning behind this kind of stuff. I mean if copyright strikes can go so wrong, then age restrictions aren't expected to be reasonable.

I have looked at dyeing the yellow pieces of the cube. There is a Rit DyeMore product that is suitable and it is available in a "Daffodil" yellow colour. I heard that the colour can be made lighter or darker based on the amount of time they are treated. That however takes a great deal of work but it may be the next project.

that sounds like a ton of work. Would be a lot easier to take a sharpie and put a black dot in the middle of each yellow cubie. Could easily tell white and yellow apart in low-level lighting when one color has a black dot on it.

Yeah it's not WCA legal but were you planning to compete with that cube?

I have the Tornado v2 and I really like it a lot. I find it hard to put down. "just one more solve"

I might actually get this cube!
How quiet is it?

It's probably the quietest cube I own.

(and I own more than any sane person should, Lol)

I feel that way about my GAN 356 M. But I really need to slow down buying cubes until I spend more time with the ones I already have.

It's very quiet but it's probably not good to rely on my hearing. Have a listen for yourself (using the video link below), and please let me know what you hear and think. The black stickered cube is the Tengyun M. The other one is the Tornado V2 and it also has stickers (put on by me).

Don't let the voice of reason slow you down!!

The thing is, since I stayed at home this year I saved a lot on housing costs, and I have some income from working. I also planned to build a PC this summer but graphics cards prices still haven't come down to reasonable levels and I will never pay a scalper. So I am fortunate enough to actually have money to buy on cubes but I don't feel good about it.
