Just got it yesterday, flagship edition, shipped from China. As shown in the attached photos. The magnetic core is ball shaped, which is different from what is in any online image of the Tornado V3 Flagship (for example, the last image that I attached).

I reckon that the cube is legit. Its case and all accessories are perfect. The cube feels pretty good overall, but doesn't turn very fast like many reviewers stated.

Any thought about the ball magnetic core, particularly why is it so?

The white core is easier to break, and magnets on the core could fall apart. So they use a transparent one instead, this one is stronger and looks nicer than the previous white core. Also be happy because you don't have to worry about screws. They don't have screws.

I like it! My guess is that more and more cubes will have a ball core in future. RS3M Super has it. And the Moyu AI Cube has it, just like other smartcubes. It makes core magnet assembly easier and more accurate, I believe, and also makes the axes more rigid and the assembly stronger.

Not sure, my flagship has the regular spider core.

i just got both the flagship and the pioneer. my pioneer has this new ball core but the flagship has the old spider-screw style core. were there any announcements from x-man about this? is one definitely better than the other?
