Big cubes - E vs M rings

What do you guys use for edges, and why?

I'm using M out of habit, but execute some edges on E after a z... And my last two edges are always on the E ring.

I've tried using E for all the edges and it was hard. Insertions felt a lot easier since they're over fingertrick-friendly faces, but my look definitely suffered a lot...

M here, since since I learned that way. It seems to work fine so far.

I figured out how to do 2-at-a-time myself and did it in the M-Slice.

Then I read some tutorials and decide to try it in the E-Slice.

Now I am thinking about switching back to the M-Slice because it gives me better look-ahead and feels more natural

I like to look on top first and then turn over the cube to look at the ''bottom'' layer.

Basically you can do the pairing of edges between to other layers. The E slice (between U and D) is the most popular, but the M slice (between L and R) is also a good choice. The S slice (between F and B) is not a good idea.

I remember I confused you when I was showing examples while asking about your method and I was using the M-Slice for it. Now you're talking about going back to the M-Slice - funny.

I use the E-Slice when I'm doing the BigCubes.com method, but the M-Slice with Arnaud's method (which is what I mainly use). But I'm terrible, so my opinion doesn't really matter here.

My first chain, 4 at a time at E and the rest is usually M but a cube turn to make the pairing a "E"

i do both. mostly e ring but in some cases i use m ring. also when i see my next edge in hte bottom layer when im about to insert my first edge i turn it to m.
