I just want to ask if anyone else if they think that the GAN 356 M will kill the x/xs? I think it will because
even though you cant change the magnets, the GAN 356 M is the same. If not better then the GAN 356 X at half the cost.
What are your thoughts?

I think if someone buys a GAN cube then it indicates that they aren't very tight on budget. So there are still going to be people who will pay twice as much for the same cube if there is anything extra even if the extra is one more letter on the box.
Remember that some people bought en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Rich app.

Also I thought that 356M will be 356 version of 354M, which in my opinion feels vastly different than 356XS.

This is honestly why I don't really care about the GAN franchise. I tend to focus more on other companies.

Tingman is the ultimate GAN fanboy though, and he'll prolly say that any new GAN is fantastic and awesome and you all need it. So yeah.
I do have to wonder how he thinks releasing a $30-$35 flagship 3x3 with no adjustments somehow changes the cubing market. I mean, it's not like the MGC Elite and GTS3M and others don't already exist.

I’ve heard the RS performs basically on par with the XS ngl, just needs to be factory magnetized. Gan isn’t changing their base design much is the problem.
tbh I didn't like the r or the rs, but really liked the XS, but I still prefer the Tengyun and for some reason I think the wuwei is amazing.
Same. I think that they're too similar and overpriced.

Edit: I think companies like MoYu with a wide variety of cubes with different feels is much better.
Yes, I agree with you. Gan is too expensive for the average cuber and not everyone likes them

I enjoy the Gan 3x3s but would rather spend less for a Wrm or a Tengyun
The Gan mega is insane though
tbh companies like YJ, MoYu and Qiyi are going to be more popular because of the range of puzzles (qiyi and moyu have bith good nxns and good side events)

Well having more options is always better. So it’s not a gan x/xs killer. If you have enough for the 356M you are probably also able to save a little more for the XS. At least thats my opinion on this topic.

And if you are young or on a budget there are better options than budget gancubes :D.

Rn my favourite brands are YJ big cubes, Dayan 2x2 and 3x3, Moyu big cubes, and QIyi X-man side events and 7x7. . Most of my mains are from one of them

Exactly. There is no hole in the cubing market at around the 30 dollar range. There is only a hole in the recent GAN cube series in the around the 30 dollar range. And I say recent, because older GAN cubes do sit nicely in that 30 dollar range.

I do agree that they're too expensive, but almost all cubers would like them, just not love them. When you pay for a GAN cube, you're paying for the premium feel, how "one size fits all", and the brand. The reason that GAN is popular is that all cubers can agree they're good. But I don't main a GAN since there are other cubes that better fit my personal needs.

lol I hate GAN cubes. I have an SM and my brother has a 354 and imo the 354 is just a terrible cube and the SM isn't that great either.
This is also the reason I haven't had another GAN cube since late 2017 when I started; they simply suck a lot.
