Nazar Lenyshyn has been banned from the WCA.

Out of curiosity, (and if anyone knows this), but how did this not get noticed by the delegate or organizers? I think that either the delegate or organizer should be keeping a look out for odd behavior, or even something as simple as making sure all the displays are plugged in and displaying correctly.

I think a five-year ban is too long. I think 6 - 12 months would be more reasonable, Compared to other sports...
What about Kalindu? This is a similar situation, and Kalindu got an 8-year ban. I think that a 5-year ban was a good time frame, but I’m glad that Nazar is back and not framing his times.

Other people who stopped the timer early but claimed less significant times got bans in the order of months. 5 years was probably too long. WDC (or WIC now) seem to keep inflating their ban lengths. Kalindu's 8 years was unprecedented, because he blatantly abused his delegate position and now 5 year bans have become too common.

Nazar's last competition before the ban was around June 2019. He started competing again around April 2023. So not a 5 year ban. I'm also glad he is back.
