It seems this is due to a bot or something. The title and content of the threads is the same.

Guys, you don't need to spam this thread to prevent other spamming. It's not like the mods or admins won't notice there are thousands of spam threads the moment they're online. They did turn the forum into an impressive mess, though... I've never anything like this happen in the couple years I've been on this forum.

Looks like a lot of other forums got hit with the same thing, we'll work to sort it out so it doesn't happen again. We've removed all of the spam accounts and users. Apologies about the issue.

I opened the forums to check for interesting new posts and had to go to the 172nd page to find relevant stuff. 171 pages of garbage "member introductions". I didn't dare to open them since they could have been viruses, and when I went back to check again the site went under maintenance, thankfully.

Yeah, for those who missed it, I took a screen shot of what I only had a chance to glimpse at this morning!

I also took a second screenshot showing that it was 74 pages of it and growing! What a (terrible) sight!

Seeing the one real member intro there is pretty funny

and I didn't see this happen so I guess it happened during the 6 hours I was asleep
