In the past two weeks I received my orders from cube4you that were ordered at the end of Dec. The packages contained cubes, tho if the girl jeans fit I wouldn't mind a new pair of those.
On to the topic:
I got a pink cube and a new type white. Both came with screws that are threaded about halfway up the cube, has anyone else gotten theirs recently and had trouble with the threads catching the center pieces? It is looking like I will have to sand them off somehow... along with gluing in the edge cap thingies to prevent popping its coming out to be more work than anticipated.
The pink cube plastic feels much like the green cube plastic so I am hoping it will be good. My plan is to make the pink one my back up OH cube with a Japanese color scheme and the white one my 2H cube with a black cross.
Shipping was under thirty days and when the screws are figured out the tension set and the cubes are lubed I think they will be very nice cubes.

Lofty I am not sure if the Japanese color scheme will help your lookahead. :D

Alltough if it's going to be your back-up OH cube then you have plenty of time to get used to the colors. :P

Lol, well being around 6 feet tall and 120lbs it is difficult to find tight fitting jeans made for men lol.
And yea I'm starting to have second thought about the japanese color scheme. tho it should be ok since thanks to yish we all know the secret to lookahead is cubeexplorer.
I probably won't get the cubes assembled for a week due to glue and fixing the screws... :-(

Be glad you got cubes and not clothing. Trust me - you would not fit into a Misses size 60 pair of jeans. I didn't even know they made jeans that big. For comparison purpuses, I'm pretty normal sized and I wear a size 6. So size 60 must be enormous.

As for the color scheme, I use a different color scheme on each one of my cubes and I don't find that it slows me down one bit. The biggest thing that slows me down is when the colors aren't readily distinguishable from each other. For example, some shades of red and orange kind of blend, so if they are on the same cube distinguishing them from each other slows me down.

Good luck fixing the screws - I wonder if there isn't something you could pick up at your local hardware store that would be a little easier to work with.

It's not size 60 but the brand is calles Miss Sixty (60).
It is pretty popular brand here in Belgium but this is totally offtopic :p

By the way were can i find a japanese color scheme?

Are you asking where you can buy a cube that's already stickered with the Japanese color scheme? Or are you asking what it is so you can sticker your cubes that way?

If the question is what it is, the blue and yellow are switched so that white is opposite blue, yellow is opposite green, and red remains opposite orange.

If you're looking to buy one, here's one at Cube4you.

I also ordered a pink DIY and a normal white diy. I'm assmebling my white DIY and having an increadibly hard time to get the screws into the center core. I got one in, but I couldn't get in any further and it was way too lose. I doubt the center cap can even fit with the screw out so much.

Now.. I'm trying to take it out but I have trouble unscrewing it...:(
Edit: I have it out now. I have no idea how I will assemble this cube if I cannot even put the springs in.

I hope you are assembling your cube correctly because normally you put a screw through the centercap, then slide a washer over your screw, then the spring over the screw and finally a last washer... Then you must screw the centercore over your screw and later you can tighten it..

In the past I have heard people complain about missing from their diy kits. I don't know if i got lucky or they did this on purpose but i have received 2 extra white center caps 2 extra edge piece anti-pop thingies, and a small washer extra in each cube.
I have dismantled one center piece from my current cube and have noticed two differences. The spring on my current cube is shorter due to a tighter compression. I'll assume this is just due to "breaking in" The observation that matters is that the thread on the old spring is 2mm shorter than the new screw. I'm going to look into buying new screws so i don't have to alter the ones i have now.

.

Aha! So that's where all those missing pieces are ending up in :P

I have just returned from my local hardware store, Lowes, and they do not sell screws as precise as I want them. They suggested I go to a machine shop or somewhere were they use very precise screws... Looks like I will be sanding 12 screws.
Edit: I just glued in the edge anti-pop thingies and managed to suoerglue every single one of them to my fingers and it was good i had extras cause i crushed one trying to force it in the edge piece. Also, at least for the pink cube i think the longer thread will be fine.

Sorry for the double post.
I have finally finished assembling, lubing, and stickering my new cubes. My finds are as follows.
The pink cube: turns and feels exactly like my green cube. well not exactly like it because it is not broken in at all but I see it has potential to be a good cube. The colors do look strange against the pink background so recognition seems to be slow (though it isn't reflected in my times). I am sure I will get used to it as I did with the green cube.
The white cube: I had high hopes for this cube but am coming to understand why people said not nice things about it. The anti-pop mechanisms make it very hard to put together and take apart. In putting in the last edge piece i snapped off the anti-pop bit but luckily had another extra. Due to this it will be hard to take apart for matainence and to set the tension if i ever do want to change it. The plastic seems harder and it just doesn't have the feel I am used to from a type a. Due to the fact it won't pop it still may make an alright cube for 2H but not OH.

I just wanted to say something about potential future products. A man I met at Guangdong Open has machine-produced one of his 4-layer Square-1's (it is slightly different in aesthetics from a normal sq-1, but functions the same) with the mf8 (Chinese speedcubing community) logo on it. It currently turns awful because the spring tension isn't set right, but it'll be great soon! :P
