Yet another question about Lubricants -_-

Hey,

I've been trying for ages to find good silicone spray in my area, but so far I haven't come up with anything like what I see people normally using. Walmarts here apparently don't sell CRC products, so I can't use that. Everything else I've found says that it has petroleum distillates in it, and I figure this is bad for my cubes; am I right?

I might end up just ordering some silicone stuff online (XD) because NONE of the hardware stores around here (Montreal, QC, I've tried 6) carry what I've seen other people using. Is there somewhere else I could be looking, or something else to use? Alternate brands of silicone that might be found here?

Getting pretty frustrated : P,

Use any type of silicone spray. I'm not sure on the petroleum distillates, but it is worth a try to use it if you absolutely have nothing else to use.

Good luck.

So the general idea here is to just use any silicone spray, not a special one of a particular grade or purity? I just don't want to have to replace my cube every 6 months because the insides have dissolved due to the lubricants >_>.

your in Canada...Canadian Tire sells Jigaloo which is 97% as good as CRC. CRC doesn't sell into Canada so your only hope is a trip down south to pick some up.

Okay, thanks a ton for that info, I might actually go down to the US and grab some this weekend xD. Living close to the border has advantages. Jigaloo I might grab too, after I do a bit of research.

Thanks a ton again,

I personally say that Jigaloo is 110% as good as CRC

And you can also buy motomaster lube at Canadian Tire, which is okay. I'm sure mr lube would sell lube aswell.

Is those silicone spray better than the Cubelube??

Cubelube is silicone.

I don't think so. Cubelube is floorwax.

Cubelube is easier to apply, doesn't have to dry, doesn't become sticky and works directly.
Silicone spray lasts longer and works just a bit better.

Both are great products

When you're feeling that the silicone is gone. Some peoples say around a month, but it's what you're feeling.

Now I have both CRC Heavy Duty Silicone and ACE Pure Silicone, but I don't know which is better. So far, I tested out both of them on 2 store bought cubes and I didn't see much difference except CRC dried up faster.
Which do you think is better, CRC or ACE?
