Hello, I am new to the forums and I thought I should introduce myself. I started cubing about a year ago, and here's my story: on June 7, 2008 I came across this thing on the internet, listing the award winning videos, there was harry potter puppet pals, human tetris, and kiwi brid animation, and among them was Dan Browns tutorial on how to solve the rubiks cube.

I was at a little store about two years before that, and I saw this crappy looking rubik's cube, so I picked it up and tested it. It was so hard to turn, and I had to use all my strength to turn it, as I turned to put it back, the store keeper said I couldn't put the crap cube back since it was scrambled. So I spent about 30 minutes in the store trying to solve it, I gave up, and was forced to buy it against my will.

I have no idea where it is today, but I'm sure it's on the other side of the world where I bought it in korea, if I had any sence of cubing back then, I would had bought a edison. I remembered that as I watched Dan Brown's tutorial, and I few day later, all the people in my class had to go to a bookstore to do this sing along thing for little elementary school children, and as I walked out of the bookstore, I saw a rubik's cube. I asked my mom to buy it, so the moment I walked in my house, I took the cube out, sat in front of the computer, and started to learn.

I learned how to solve it and memorized the algorithms within a hour. Then it became a toy because I enjoyed scrambling it and solving it over and over again. Then I came across another video, It was Erik making a record of 7.08 seconds, and that's how my journey as a speedcuber started.

If I summarize it, I belive it went like this: one week sub minute, 3 months sub 30, two more months, sub 20, then I got overwhelmed by full OLL so I switched to roux not so long ago, then I realized what was wrong with me (had trouble on LL) and changed back to fridrich after month or so. Then I changed back and decided to use roux permannetly. I suck a roux currently but I hope I get better. Hope I get to know you guys.

Cheers!
