Why do we always have to mess up really nice solves?

I remember a while ago when i had never gotten a sub 20 i screwed up an h perm on a good solve and got 21 instead of like 18-19

Take this solve for an example: U' F2 D' F2 L U B U' F B' D2 L2 B' R2 L2 B2 R2 F D

I managed to make an x-cross and got a 5 second F2L, with a 2 second dot oll, then a u perm, which I had to stuff up. if I hadn't of stuffed up I woulda gotta pb, as I got 13.673 secs on this awesomely good but somehowmanagedtostuffutup solve
