Which order should I buy puzzles in?

Eventually I want to learn to solve all WCA puzzles, but I want to know in which order I should buy them because I don't want to be overwhelmed all at once. Any advice is appreciated, as long as it is constructive…

I worked my way up through the order 3>4>5>6>7 because i wasn't really interested in non-cubic puzzles to begin with. I guess they follow on from each other pretty naturally. (You can get 2x2 any time as it's just corners.) Pyra and Skewb are relatively straightforward and can be solved in a couple of algs. As is Clock I suppose. Mega slightly less so. Square-1 is pretty different (it's cool though). Get whatever takes your fancy and go from there.

It's difficult to say... everyone has their own personal preferences. Can't you buy all the puzzles now, and try each for a day or two, and decide an order for yourself?

Otherwise, I would suggest the natural progression is to bigcubes first, and other twisty puzzles later.

Go straight for a 7x7 and 4-6 will be pretty easy to solve once you're done with 7.

I am a traditionalist, and will probably only do 3x3.

Something like the 13x13 just seems crazy to me.

I'd say buy whatever you fancy trying next. You need some enthusiasm for what you are doing or it'll end up feeling like a chore.

But, if you are set on becoming as good as you can be then pick the most difficult puzzle you think you can manage each time then work your way back to the easiest. Bear in mind square one won't be much help in learning anything else.

I disagree with this approach. I think going straight for 7x7 is more likely to put someone off, for various reasons:
1. Hardware kinda sucks
2. There's a lot to take in
3. If you haven't done any other big cubes you're going to be really slow
4. It's a big puzzle and not easy to hold comfortably

I would suggest going for 4x4 or 5x5 first. Then if the OP takes a liking to bigcubes they can go bigger.

I think most people have already said it. 3x3 is the most common starting point. Then usually on to 4x4 and 5x5. Here then a split tends to happen; 6x6 and 7x7 or on to other twisty puzzles (Skewb, Pyraminx, etc.)
