Hey guys! Im about a week into cubing and i have to say i LOVE IT. I still use the beginners method and only know the beginners algorithms. I want to get faster at solving and learn some more stuff, but I dont know where to go from here? what should i learn? in what order should i learn it? Help a newbie out :) thanks!

im very good with the beginners method, i dont even have to think about the algorithms anymore.

every time i try to time myself i wind up messing up... i always get nervous >.< id say like 2 mins

First learn how to solve it: Done
Then learn how to do cross efficiently (8 moves maximum)
Then learn keyhole for improving your first two layers and your general understanding of the cube without learning new algs
Then learn algs for a 4 look last layer (3 for edge OLL, 7 for corner OLL, 2 for corner PLL, 4 for edge PLL)
Then learn intuitive F2L with pairs (Fridrich-style). If you can't do a pair, look up a solution but don't just learn the alg. Try to understand the alg.
Learn full PLL (21 algs, including the 6 you already learned)

Ask again next week ;) and post a video so we can see your current level and method

This should help: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showpost.php?p=6815&postcount=4

Try getting down to one minute first. Don't worry, your times will drop really fast.

Basically what AvGalen said, that's a good order to learn the things. Also, practice your fingertricks. That will help a lot. If you still have a storebought, get a better one and lube it. This won't take a huge amount off your time but it should take off a few seconds and more importantly you'll get a better feel for your cube so you'll be bale to practice and solve mroe effectively.

After week of cubing and fridrich? no way! that will be a BIG problem to understand (it was me actually...)

If you can understand it after 1 week... well... (Y)
