When to learn Full OLL?

Falling back on "you're being too serious" is a weak tactic employed by people with no rebuttal.

Someone saddened because of the lack of knowledge about underground methods in the cubing community is definitely being too serious.
MGLS, ELL and CLL are not really underground methods, there are algs on at least 3 websites for all of them (Probably way more for ELL/CLL)

I should inform myself more :P My cubing history was weird and I got on this forum when I was averaging 40 to 50 secs and I got way faster because we learn more on this forum. My friends are learning way faster than I did because I give them all the shortcuts and all. To me, there was only Friedrich, so this may be the reason why I don't want to get into those new methods.

Jesus christ, learn how to quote people properly.

Serious or not, anyone who thinks lack of knowledge isn't a bad thing is a moron.

Lack of knowledge is not something we want. But lack of knowledge in more or less useful subjects is not something bad. At all.

I assume you meant useless instead of useful, as that's the only thing that makes sense.

You seem to have highlighted underground. The methods I talk about are not underground at all. The only reason why knowledge of their existence is dwindling is because of people like you.

I think it's terrible that more is not known about this stuff.

Go learn the Wiki if you really think what you just said, because it's deeply wrong.

I don't even know what you're referencing here.

Whatever weak tactic used by such low-quality members do not change the fact too many times, you ''act'' like you know it all and you are a year ahead of us.

It's not an act.

That's why I used this ponctuation. I'm french and my english is far from being perfect.

Ok, sure. So what's wrong with this? There's nothing wrong with portraying myself as knowing lots if I actually do.

Don't you have a method for this? Like Kuote or something?

It was someone else underlining it :P

You said something that could be summarized to : Not wanting to learn something is bad/Lack of knowledge in anything is always bad

Wrong, maybe not. Unpleasant, sure thing. Medium is not as important as the message, but it's still important.

I've already said this once. Stop intentionally misinterpreting what I'm saying and taking it to a retarded extreme

I couldn't care less.

am with kir on this one.

This sub-cult of ss used to be educated, and actually did a bit of research, and thought quite a bit before posting, even a year or so ago. In the past year, chaos and cancerous ignorance and laziness has degraded us, and this saddens statue.

As for to learn OLL or not now or later: I think you're at a point where it's beneficial enough to go ahead and learn the rest.

As for other methods, while I think that CLL/ELL wouldn't be as good as OLL for me personally, and MGLS would be more beneficial, it's really up to the person. People have done great things with most modern systems, and sub-step variations.

The best of luck,
Statue

Reductio ad absurdum innit.

Anyway,

I find it funny how people now equate Kirjava's posts with either him 'being annoying', 'trolling', or 'being elitist', without actually reading his posts and seeing whether he makes a valid point or not. 'Never' is perfectly good advice in this context, since there are potentially 'better' alternatives.

I think perhaps some of the people contributing to this thread really need to take a bit of time doing more research on their hobby rather than just spamming current threads.

Sure, it's hardly a crime to have never heard of something, but it's definitely a crime not to take 5 seconds googling the term.

@OP: Learn what you like, when you feel like. Practically speaking, there is no optimum speed or level of ability at which you should learn algorithms or methods, nor an optimal approach to finishing the last layer(/last slot).

Inb4 '1lll has optimal movecount'.

Making negative remarks as calling most of cubers "pathetic" for not grasping concept that are to him obvious is either an obvious display of arrogance or the behaviour that of a troll.
Rather than informing people of the method and making constructive criticism and argumenting for a valid point with facts and or resonable claims he clearly insults everyone. I would be happy to find one tutorial on the issue that explains the entire methology behind MGSLL but I have yet to find one that makes any sense what so ever - and my best bet is that most people are in my situation, unexperienced, doesn't have English as their first language and reading methods is difficult to grasp and/or understand.

Rather than helping out, he insults which is much easier than spedning time and effort making people understand him - which is borderline trolling.

Fair enough, I did include the 'or not' for a reason, but you can't deny he makes plenty of posts that are useful and none of the things I mentioned.
(As an aside, he will happily admit to being an 'elitist bastard' :))

When I was looking at learning MGLS, I found Lucas Garron's site to be perfectly good:
http://cube.garron.us/MGLS/

and Justin Adsuara has made videos for every MGLS case and an intro video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk0szzMr5MQ

Admittedly he's no Badmephisto, but that in combination with Lucas' page should give you a clear idea of how the method works.

Psst. wait until this afternoon.
I'm making a super MGLS thread, but it shall take me a little bit.
