ok so, a few years ago i learned to do the rubix cube, and i just picked one up again, but there seems to be something very wierd going on.

ive solved the cube 7 times in a row now, however, literally EVERY time i end up with this configuration in the end:
https://gyazo.com/43d12dd13ea0e38c68aff68a0470b333

every single brick end up in the correct place, but two of the edges are flipped. not location, just the rotation.

and i can not find a solution to flip these... so, i take those two bricks out of the cube, rotate them, and put them back together so that the cube is all correct, then i scramble the cube, and try to solve it again, but i end up with that wierd configuration again! i also tried NOT fixing the cube, but i still end up with that configuration. does anyone know whats going on?

yeah i hate when that happens its probably a defective cube

when the two flipped pieces are opposite each other, hold the cube so it looks like an "H" and do this algorithm:
(M' U')4 (M U)4

when the flipped pieces are adjacent, hold the cube so they are in the front right and do this algorithm:
R B
(M' U')4 (M U)4
B' R'

so i've just been extremely unlucky 9 times in a row? or am i setting myself up for it unintentionally? i only know a few moves. three moves in fact.

thats what ive been doing half the times, but i seem to end up with that configuration every single time no matter what i do. 9 times in a row now.

I'm not sure what method you use, but assuming you use a layer-by-layer method, at some point you have to orient and permute the edges, as well as the corners. It appears that you forgot to orient the edges each time. For most layer-by-layer methods, that's the first step once you get to the final layer.

To orient the edges:
If you have no edges oriented, do F R U R' U' F' to get 2 edges oriented.
If you have 2 edges oriented in an L shape, put the L in the back left and do F U R U' R' F' to get all edges oriented.
If you have 2 edges oriented in a line, hold the line horizontally and do F R U R' U' F' to get all edges oriented.

If you don't know notation, that's pretty crucial if you want to go further into cubing, so you can learn it here.
