Definitely clock. All of the other events are either too complicated or too many people participating. Clock is easy to learn, and not many cubers do this event. However, you wouldn't get much attention if you win at clock or something like that.

If you are defining world class as the top 100 wca, then I believe the answer is 5x5x5 blind. There are only 157 solvers on record so an average result is world class. Also as it can be done intuitively there can be nearly no algs.

Wtf, when did FMC become stupid? Oh yeah, as I predicted, July 12, 2015. Happens with every event I do. ;(

Excuse me!

Please point out where did I say that fmc was stupid? It's one of my favourite events (only event I really practise besides bld events)...

I just said that getting to top100 in that event is quite easy. It doesnt mean that the event is stupid. It just means that most people dont bother learning even the basic fmc techniques (if you just learn niss, insertions and basic blockbuilding skills top100 in fmc shiuld be quite easy to reach)

Okay, well it seemed like you were saying it was stupid based on saying it was that easy. But I guess not.

It's stupid because somebody like me can go in with no prior knowledge and get a single that's in the top 100 just by getting lucky. That being said, I get the appeal of it, so it's definitely not stupid to the people who take it seriously.

Also not true. Vincent Sheu got WR mean with straight CFOP.

That is why we use mo3 format. If you get lucky with cfop once you probably will get sup-35 solves on remaining 2 attempts and still get a bad mean...

Of course you can get insanely lucky... Someone could get 5 4-move scrambles in same avg5 and get WR... But it's very unlikely and that is the reason we use averages and means instead of singles. So yes. What I said is true...

Skewb easily. I got a skewb and within a month I was sub 7. Megaminx also, I was sub 2 inside a month and now, about 3 months later, I'm averaging sub 1:40. I have never tried clock though.

Those are awful times... not saying that sub 7 and sub 1:40 are trash, but they aren't even close to world class. Skewb world class is sub 4 now and mega world class is sub 1 i would say.

WTF are there reconstructions?

I vaguely remember how he did the first one, and I remember the ending he had for the second. I'll ask around and try to reconstruct.

Edit: got the first one. I'll post this in the FMC thread, as well (so that all the knowledge is in the same place).

Scramble: L2 F L2 R2 B2 R2 B' R2 F U2 L2 D B2 U' F' L' B2 R' U2 L2

L R B' D' B2 D2 F' // 2x2x3 [7/7]
R U' R' U' R' // 2xcross by doing ??? [5/12]
F' U F // make 2 pairs [3/15]
R' U2 R // F2L-1 [3/18]
U' R U2 R' // [4/22]

Many people found the fairly linear 27 on this solution, as did Vincent as the very first thing he tried. He told me that he basically spent the next 20-30 minutes just trying random crap after the 2x2x3 block, until he found that continuation, and was liek "uh k"

27 solution:
L R B' D' B2 D2 F' // 2x2x3 [7/7]
R2 U' R' U2 R' // F2L-1 [5/12]
B U' B' U' B U B' // F2L [7/19]
F' U2 F U F' U F U // left anti-sune [8/27]
