i did 5 F2L solves, and my i counted how many moves each one took me to finish it,
these were my times[

Code:
57 moves
44 moves
47 moves
53 moves
65 moves

average of 5 = 53.2 moves

i know for a fact that this is way to many and needs to be reduced, what is the best way to come about doing this? how can i reduce the amount of moves i do in F2L?

A few tips
Just solve more because you will become more familiar with the cases and you will eventually lower your movecount
Next you can find some slgs for cases that take you much longer then normal
I don't learn algs for f2l but I have heard many people have had great results from it

Are we supposed to tell you what you're doing wrong without knowing what you're doing?

Anyway, go check out the solutions of all the good guys in the reconstruction thread to see how it's done right.

Wut, 53 moves for F2L?

Apart from the stuff already mentioned:
you could post some examples of your F2L so we can actualy see what you are doing.

You could do that in this thread or in the "example solve" thread.

To start getting low move counts for f2l, after finishing cross, look at what the easiest pairing would be and do that continuously. The first pair would usually take 4-7 moves IMO

I'm by no means an expert on F2L but my mean average of the cases is about 7 moves each, aim roughly for that but find some good finger tricky algs for the cases you are struggling with.

Look at how the "pros" do it, and learn a few things, practice, and I may even suggest dabbling a little into block-building (just for a better overall understanding - I suggest trying methods like Petrus and/or Freefop. Obviously, you don't need to switch, but I think it's helpful to try out).
