What cubers like to see on YouTube?

Make it original :) I don't really speak for other cubers, but I don't need to see unboxings and reviews of puzzles that have been reviewed multiple times. Don't make anything that is 10 minutes long where I will just skip to the end to see what happens.

If you're going to a comp or a meetup, film it and talk about it. Interview people, perhaps. Or discuss real developments in the cubing like the new RSA. Make predictions for the new year.

Just be original!

What I personally like to see:
  • I'm a n00b, so anything covering good advanced tips and tricks
  • Example solve break-downs from actual speedsolves to see where I can improve
  • Hardware reviews, especially new hardware
  • Good original cubing humor.
What I don't care for in cubing vids
  • Highly compressed audio that's way louder than normal and/or sudden loud audio spikes (such as intro/outro music). My ears are already declining, please watch your audio levels.
  • Unboxings. I'm more interested in the subsequent hardware review, and the state of knife safety in unboxing vids makes me anxious.
  • Elaborate or long intros. I'm not there for the graphics and music and mostly consider it dead-air that delays what I'm interested in watching.
  • Poor planning on the script. Even if the information is gold it's difficult to make it beyond 10 seconds of "okay, um... so... what I'm going to ummmm... show you today is uhhhh... how you can ummm improve your uhhhh times with zeroing, so, ummm... yeah..."
tl;dr: Content, content, content

It would be cool if there was something like ESPN sports center for cubing
Yes. Absolutely. I've made this suggestion to a few CubeTubers already. Let's see which one does it first. (well I guess JRCuber did it first with his monthly "Cubed" videos. But it is only brief and only monthly. Not like a good cubing ESPN should be imo.)

Skits, Collabs, Podcasts, that's the sort of stuff I watch. I get bored fairly easily, so long videos which spend 10 minutes to say the Gans Air is a good cube aren't appealing to me. I also love watching comp videos or recaps of some of the cool moments at competitions I don't have the opportunity to attend. And of course interviews catch my attention.

Can't emphasise how important this is. If an intro goes on for more than 5 seconds I'll simply press back and won't watch the video. There are probably several others out there which say the same thing (unless you've got new/original content, which is a really important thing to have! Don't make it so that there is an alternative I can watch).
