I am colour neutral. I'm thinking of switching to just one colour though.

Have you ever noticed how OLD this thread is?

Probably...
But if he starts a new one he thought he'd be yelled at for making a copy of the thread. (White here)

My thoughts exactly. Most people have good intentions. I would rather an old thread be revived than have a duplicate thread created. Oh... White on bottom for cross, yellow on top.

Green. I read this article in a science journal about green being the easiest color for the human eye to recognize. Oh, and why would you switch from being color neutral to just one color?

That is so stupid. Green, orange, and red are the worst color for me to recognize. For my next cube, I plan on replacing green with black to become 2/3 color neutral.

This thread was already a copy:

It might be true.
In the US at least, all the traffic signs are green.

(Personally, white seems like it would be easiest to see, seeing as it's the lightest color, but I learned starting with white, so that probably just me.)

i think people make it with white becuase the original cubes had the white face as the most important becuase of the logo and the fact that face always was upright in the box.

i use blue becuase its my favouite colour:)

Source please?

Reason from switching from color neutral to not color neutral? You don't spend as much time recognizing and planning your cross if you're always looking for the same color. People who are color neutral may get to pick the best cross, but they have to spend time evaluating every color to determine which one is the best. It's a tradeoff.

I look for whatever has the most edges that are ready to be put into the cross, then solve that color on the bottom, but that's for when I do the Fridrich method. I use Petrus more often.

I certainly don't. A quick glimpse and usually one just stands out. I think I look for edges already oriented on the same or opposite face.

i use white or yellow depending on which looks better during inspection (usually just go white)

i've been using white only for my cross. recently, i've been trying to add yellow crosses to my repertoire if i can't see an easy white cross. it still takes me 1-3 seconds longer when i use a yellow cross.
