WCA World Championship 2023

Honestly Tommy Cherry's consistency is underrated. Tommy won both Worlds and Nats for 3BLD and Clock, while many other WR holders did not win the events they hold WR in.

Edit so I don't make multiple posts: Does anybody know whether US Nationals 2025 will still be held? 2 big comps for one summer is a lot of effort to organize, even if you have a lot of people.

YiHeng's Loss is exactly what happened to Feliks in 2011. Feliks was the favor to win but due to lack of experience he lost and ended up getting third. Then, he went on to win 2 straight Worlds.

I would’ve been surprised if Yiheng had won. Yes, he has the world record average, but he is not that much faster than Max or Tymon. He’s extremely young and inexperienced with high pressure comps; I wouldn’t have expected him to be able to deal with that well enough to beat a veteran like Max

I'll agree with you on the experience but disagree on the rest. Yiheng is a lot faster than Max or Tymon. Max and Tymon have both had one sub-5 average. Yiheng has six. Yiheng has had one average over 6 since 2021. Tymon has had 6 since May. Max has had 6 since June. Yiheng is also the only person with a counting 3.

He's head and shoulders above everybody else right now.

Yiheng has 6, he got one at worlds, third round I believe.

Wow, I guess I haven’t been keeping up as much with cubing as I thought; didn’t realize just how dominant he’s been. I think my point about not being surprised he didn’t win stands, but I’ll certainly recognize he is significantly better in pure 3x3 skill and speed than either Max or Tymon, much more than I had thought

Once again, why is there still no results from the world championships published on the WCA site?
This is starting to get ridiculous, it has been more than a week now, do they really think nobody is interested in looking at all the results?
In my opinion this should be published the same day as the competitions ends.

The results are all still visible in the live page, so I disagree. It's better that they be careful and make sure all the results are correct. Anyone can see all the results now, but they're just not official yet.

And even most smaller competitions take a lot more than a day to be posted. There is a significant process that must be done to post the results.

As others mentioned, there are well over 1,000 competitors, therefore it would obviously take a much longer time for Worlds results to be published than for your regular local comp. It is extremely difficult to post the results in the same day. There are again, well over 1,000 competitors, each with many different results. I've been to local comps that take a week to get results published, so this really isn't that long of a wait. Also, check your grammar. :)
