If you've watched any of badmephisto's videos he mentions that the yellow sticker "vanish" from his sight. My top color is black so what i did was put together a cube of just F2L and blank Rubik's brand cubies. It works for me because my top layer is black and i know the blank cubies are useless so i ignore them. I noticed a slight increase in speed, but i didn't notice myself doing anything different. I guess you may want to try it if you have any extra time but i'm not quite sure how effective it is yet.

I have such a cube; it's a sound idea..it's a training tool. With the blacked out U layer, you really notice how everything moves instead of a blur of color. Do a Sune on such a cube and it really pops out how the pieces travel around--it's good for your head. The transition back to a normal is cube is minimal.

Yeah, I was planning to do that (you can get a yellow base cube if you use yellow for LL... I don't see how this can help color neutral... LOL at the whole cube being black except for the centers...)
I ordered the new cube a while ago, and I hope it can come in by next week...
