Want to get Faster at 4x4 and 5x5

I started off using a Rubik's brand 4x4. Never again. I was averaging 2:10 at the time when I switched to an eastsheen. It dropped my average to around 1:40. I used 2 edge pairing for 4x4 and never changed. The thing I found most helpful on a 4x4 is being able to look ahead for edge peices. I found it difficult but it's just a matter of practice and you'll get the hang of it. Just look at the edge next to the one you are pairing (that might sound confusing). Being able to solve the 3x3 relatively fast helps too and being able to perform OLL and PLL parities fast also helps. I 'upgraded' to a mefferts clone and my times dropped from 1:40 to about 1:25 instantly and now I just practice 4x4 around 5 minutes a day and I'm down to 1:1x minute average. It's a matter of practice. These things don't just happen overnight. You need to be patient.
