My 3x3 ao5 is now 30 seconds. I average 2:15 on 4x4, 3:45 on 5x5, 7:30 on 6x6, and about 12-13 minutes on 7x7. How do I get faster? I use Yau for 4 and 5 and for 6 and 7 I use redux

I don't do 6x6 and 7x7, and I'm not that great at 5x5 (average sub-3), but I average around 1:15 for 4x4. Do you use 3-2-3 edge pairing? If not, definitely learn, it dropped my times a ton. And other than that, I'd say practice lookahead to reduce pauses.

I don't know to much about anything but 4x4, but since you already know yau, the best i can say is spam solves, improve finger tricks, look-ahead, and 3-2-3. People have also told me to watch example solves and implement the tricks they use (though, I only did that a little).

I struggled with 4 and 5 for a while but have been improving. My best tips are for 4 to make the first two centers quickly and then focus on improving on that and first 3 edges, also 323 edge pairing is very fast and also working on 3 x3 is helpful. For 5x5 watch jperms getting faster at it vid and practice centers and be able to efficently pair edges.

Your best bet is just to learn more 3x3 techniques and practice those and learn lookahead. For big cubes, I would recommend watching Kevin Hays' Tuesday Tips, as those video have a load of info you can learn from: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjUDKtvFU6ciyTvv_2RextBE_tbHd3Ruu

I know everyone hates on Hoya, but still I'd recommend trying it out for 4x4 and 5x5. I personally dropped my times pretty rapidly after switching from Yau when I was averaging about 1:30 on 4x4

I don't even have a 6 and 7, and I just started learning 5 less than 2 weeks ago. But what helped me on 4 (I average 43-45 now after a couple of months starting out at 2:30, with a 10.5 3x3 global avg) is simply doing a ton of solves. Both timed and untimed. Use untimed solves to allow yourself to think of the best solution for everything you see (there really isn't that many different things on 4x4 imo), then after while it'll come naturally in timed solves. Even now, I'm not learning anything special for 4x4 (and I never have), and I'm still steadily improving.
