Hey guys, I know i havn't been around lately cause I been taking a break from cubing. I'll probaly get back into it and solving puzzles for fun.

Well I need some help thinking of an Idea for science fair around the levels of 8th grade-9th grade.

Im asking you guys cause i know you guys are smart :]

Thankss!

Do a volcano. It's so original, it's bulletproof!
Or else you could do "the effects of insomnia on test performance". That'd be fun.

Do it on something you like. I almost made Nationals 3 years in a row when I did it in high school. Pick something you like now, and stick with it for 3-4 years. I don't have any suggestions because I don't know what you like.

Good luck.

No volcanoes, Humans and animals can't be used.

yea my teacher said that.

Well in 6th grade i did, Which soil is best for growing plants?

So yea Botany is good, but i want something more high leveled so i can beat everyone else.

I actually just finished my science fair paper a few minutes ago. Its on the Stroop effect, and my partner and I are testing to see if males or females preform better when taking the Stroop test.

Can potatoes be grown without soil and how effective is it compared to with soil? using rockwool and potting soil.

But is it possible to grow potatoes this time of year?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will bean stems grow downward if the only light source comes from below?

-ill need help testing this helpme?

--------------------------------------------------------------
What effect does the depth of a planted seed have on the plant's growth?
---------------------------------------------------------------

Which of those would give me most kudos and can be done within 3 months?

Wthh, i came up with How does Microorganisms in soil affect plant growth?

and i said i can kill microorganisms in 1 sample of soil by baking them in the oven..

and my teacher said no use of microorganisms wthell

I wanttt something to do with botany'

hmm...how about

Is plant growth affected by how closely together the seeds where planted?

How about plant cloning? I forget the word, but it is when you cut the plant and replant that section of the plant and it grows another genetic copy of the original and you can make a whole bunch of them. I don't know what kind of plants this works with, but it could be a nice idea. Maybe do something about where you cut the plant and its relation to how tall the plant grows and how fast? I don't know. People would probably think that cloning sounds really hard, but it was easy when I did it last year in biology :)

How about: If I like strawberries and try to grow them for a science fair, will there be strawberries left to show or will I have eaten them all?

Not a joke. This is actually a weird version of "if wolves need rabbits to feed on, and there are less rabbits because of a rabbit-decease, wolves will reproduce less so there will be enough food for their young"

Last year, I did this:
The effect of method used to solve the cube, on number of moves taken.

But as you can imagine, everyone does the F2L differently, so that had some flaws. This year I am doing this:

The effect of method of solving the last layer, on number of moves taken.

I am testing OLLPLL, 2GLL, CLLELL, and COLL.
