I'm not so sure how I trust them to build the first magnetic cube larger than 15x15

That's assuming the design is any good to begin with. Nobody else might want it.
Yeah, having to crowdfund it doesn't instill much trust, not a very good look. Makes it sound like they're really hurting.

ok to be fair its probably because of how its sitting but the gaps in the pieces around the outside worry me about the structural integrity of the puzzles. Still cool to see tho.

I'm not arguing with you, because I agree. But Gan does the same thing. So, it's either we choose a budget cube company to use, or we choose our poison (Gan or Moyu).

My understanding from the pictures and videos I've seen is that it has a 20 magnet ballcore with 8 corner to core magnets and 12 edge to core magnets. So 20 in the ballcore, 20 that interface with the ballcore, for 40 "ball core positioning magnets."
