It is only the Tornado Pioneer version (the Maglev version that most agree is not as good as the Flagship version) that has the new "ball" design by replacing the original brittle axle design. I believe that Max Park was using the Flagship, and not the Pioneer, when he broke WR. Am I wrong?View attachment 25048
QiYi has updated the Tornado v3’s core with stronger ballcore in their latest batches while still selling it at the same price.
I tried both old core and new core Tornado V3, and the one with new core is a lot better.
I guess this can be one of the reasons for Max Park to switch back from the YS3M.
Now, I am not disputing that the Maglev version (with its different turning behaviour and super fast speed) may be improved by the ball. What I really like to know is whether the Flagship with its conventional spring system will be improved by a ball. I hope that's also true. I look forward to QiYi upgrading the Flagship as well, and hope any improvement will be brought to their best version, which most agreee is the Flagship. The reviews of the new Moyu cubes suggest that the ball makes a different to stability. What I don't know is whether it is due to the core magnets or the ball shape as well, since Moyu don't seem to have any cube with Corte magnets unless they are mounted in a ball for direct comparison.
