Upcoming puzzles

MoYu needs to stop pumping out 3x3s and design a good square-1 and clock.
Seriously though, we haven't had a good clock or square-1 release in years. Gan did talk about releasing a 5x5 and Square-1 but it seems like they lied about that. There were also rumors about the Gan clock but that hasn't amounted to anything either.
It's been 3 years since the QiYi clock has come out and it's time for a better one. Over time clockers needs have changed and, while the QiYi clock is obviously still the best on the market, it has a lot of issues and I think everyone could benefit from a new release.

Gan didn't lie about those puzzles lmao. They got delayed. They mentioned they were gonna be delayed a while ago.
 
I don't know about ya'll but I just need moar maglev, ballcore, and UV coatings!

Antoine Cantin has a couple videos from a few years ago when he toured the Moyu factory (good to watch just for that tour). He said he asked them about clock and they told him they had worked on a clock for a few years and couldn't get it right so gave up on it. This was before the Qiyi clock came out, so no idea if Moyu has tried again or plans to. But I agree, they and YJ both should make some clocks. More competition will make for better clocks.

It was Nov 2021 when Gan said in that video interview with Cubicle that they were working on a 5x5 and Sq1. Then sometime last year they said they were both delayed. No word since then.

IIRC they also said that they are prioritizing putting out their UV coated 1x3x3 floppy cube before their 5 and sq1 for whatever reason. So there's a L Gan moment.

1. Disagree, you mean they should price this $15 for a UV coated cube?
2. "more than double the previous pricing" vs "no matter what name", if the name doesn't matter, how is there a "previous" pricing? Your logic/wording is so contradicting.

you're quite wrong, and not just once... feel free tonread the poat right above mine I replied to, James suggested they might at least call it the "Super RS3M Pro"

RS3M Super (standard, aka "v1") @ $9.99 (USD)
RS3M Super v2 (standard) @ $26.99 (USD)
2 × 9.99 = 19.98 and
26.99 / 9.99 = 2.7 therefore "more than double"

Any extra cost associated with UV coating was previously made available on the top-end cube of the YS3M series and Weilong V9 series

RS3M has for 3 years been Moyu's budget cube line, and suddenly they jack it all up to a higher price point than the flagship cubes they already released this year...

Basically identical to the Super RS3M line of cubes... except for the UV...huh

No you don’t get my point. Please read my point no. 2 again.

My stand:
1. If you can't agree on something's price, dont buy it.
2. Please be reminded that Moyu "upgraded" the packaging, and now with a carrying case(which previously not include). Yes I know we dont need those packaging, but this is how it is now, and Moyu sure gonna recover the cost of the packaging and the carrying case, and make some profit from it too.
3. No one seems to complain about the price difference between V2 Magnetic vs V2 Maglev, that surprise me.
4a. If V2 is about the same performance and feature set as V1 and $3 more expensive, how many customers buy it?
4b. If V2 is about the same performance as V1, but with UV coated, an "upgraded" packing & carrying case, and about $17 more expensive, how many customer will buy it?
For 4a & 4b, do remind yourself a lot of the RS3M customer bought it because of low budget, they dont want to or can't spend more money to buy those more expensive thing, are they gonna spend money on an identical (performance-wise) cube? Likely not, thus Moyu UV coat the cube, and (I guess) they are targeting another group of customer.
4c. Will you buy a "V2 barebone/lite"? like $15ish, without the fancy packaging & carrying case, and also without UV coating? if so, make your voice louder, Moyu might actually listen and sell one.
5. If you can't agree on something's price, dont buy it.
 
I just saw the price of super rs3m v2 released in Aliexpress. Mind boggling, more expensive than weilong v9 or Tornado v3. I can understand if it is more expensive than the Tornado, given the UV. But more expensive than the NEW weilong? And it's not like they need to carry out any new R & D or any new innovation in this rs3m (which can excuse the high price).

Hmm is the Super RS3M V2 really worth the same price as a UV Coated GAN Mini M Pro without adjustable magnets? That’s pretty insane especially for RS line from MoYu

There's a reason for the insanity. You can get the Mini for about half price now from some Chinese outlets. I wrote a review about it here. It is was not good. Very good idea, but poorly executed in terms of actual product quality, from my experience with it. Back to my grumpy style. 😆
