Upcoming puzzles

I tried both the Hong and the 562 at a competition (Mulun Yin was at the competition, and he is a GAN Guru.) The Hong is great, stable, and fluid, similar to a slightly more flexible Valk 5. The 562 felt like what the first and second layers of the AoShi WRM feels like out of the box mixed with a GAN 251's airy, almost "fluffy" feel, and the corner-cutting is exponentially better in both the inner layers and outer layers than the 460. Magnet capsules were in place for the 562, and there were both UV and frosted. I think that the Hong and the 562 are evenly matched, and I feel like the 562 is a more improved Dayan Nezha.

My MGC 5x5 broke exactly 20 mins ago before you made this post (rip MGC 2021-2024) and I was thinking about getting one of these two cubes because I saw it as a sign. My question is: which one did you personally prefer?

It depends on whether you value stability and controllability (Hong 5x5) or speed and flexibility (GAN 562). But you may have to wait for a long time for the 562.
Honestly, I like the 562 more but I think that it's going to have a crazy price tag.

Looks like the MGC will soon be outclassed in every big cube.
Not price-wise. The prices of the MGC lineup are always going to be unbeatable for what they're worth, but for ballers, the lineup will probably be:
4x4: MoYu AoSu WRM
5x5: XMD Hong/GAN 562
6x6: MoYu AoShi WRM
7x7: MoYu AoFu WRM

Cost wise I definitely agree. The MGC line is crazy value for performance but I feel like top cubers will eventually start switching.

I think most top solvers prefer the Meilong 6/7 over the MGC's, and they are cheaper as well iirc

I don't think the GAN562 is anywhere as flexible as the aochuang wrm or the GAN460. It's like an even more stable Valk but catchy or a heavier nezha but corner cut worse.

I agree. I know nothing about 6x6 so I can't comment about that. But as a cuber serious at 7x7, I'm maining a ball core meilong 7 V2 over the ball core aofu wrm. Ball core makes a huge difference on the meilong 7. more interestingly the meilong 7 is not only smaller than the aofu, but the outers on the meilong are actually larger than on the aofu even though the inner layers are just a touch smaller than the aofu. I can turn quite a bit faster on the ball core meilong than on the aofu, not only 3x3 stage but also the entire solves.
