Upcoming 3x3s

an observation:
the intention behind this thread is purely because One Person was crying Wah Wah Wah bcoz seeing other posts in Upcoming Puzzles requires scrolling thru other posts (like all other threads...) 🥺😓😭

huh, I wonder if Stephen Hawking ever cried because of having to scroll to see other stuff that wasn't t on his computer screen yet...
Maybe something can be done to set up a filter within the general Upcoming Puzzles thread to let us select the types of puzzles that are of interest to a member. For example, select one or more of 3x3, 4x4,..., Clock, Snake, ... I believe I have seen something like this, a Tag or label on the message for the type of puzzle somewhere in the Hardware Review forums. All that's needed is a way to make use of that and let us customise the output of a thread. I'm not very hopeful. I am still waiting for some response to fix the search problem I reported, ie not being able to search anything when the keywords are shorter than 4 alphabets, keywords like: EVO II, V9 or V2, Gan UI,

it is possible to do an advanced search and choose the thread line desired... but that might seem more work than scrolling

I still think subscribe to speedcubereview/cubicle/scs is a better choice for 3x3 information, no point knowing there is a new cube coming but not knowing anything about it. Also no point knowing it before it's available for purchase. I will just shift focus back the the upcoming puzzles thread instead of here, it's more fun to see all sorts of new puzzles. (i only do 3x3 btw)

First post in a while, I agree with the sentiment of this post, how hard is it to scroll past the 3x3 posts. Hissy fit thrown by the “One Person” who cant be arsed to scroll past posts of no interest to him and instead dictate the way news of new cubes is posted. Jog on!!!!

This is a bad take. Knowing puzzles are being worked on, even without any other information, gives consumers the ability to make more informed buying decisions.

You might hold off on buying something if you know something is coming out soon.
Kust look at how the diansheng magnetic giga was announced days after yuxins nonmag. If people knew about dianshengs they could have made a more informed purchase

With the time I‘ll save from not scrolling through non-3x3s in Upcoming Puzzles, I can acquire a minor skill, such as the ability to efficiently unravel a ball of twine.

I wonder how popular this 3x3 will be, given all the choices that we have currently.
3x3 is to me a special case, due to the number and frequency of new products releases, the popularity, the variety of design (springs, magnetised, Maglev, repelling magnets, smartcubes and robots, settings and adjustment possibilities, price range). So, it seems OK if it is given its own area, IMHO. I assume there are enough cubers who do only 3x3s to justify this convenience. Newcomers can come in here, and then when they start exploring other puzzles later, can also go to the other thread.

Is there a way to automatically duplicate everything posted here to the other more general thread? That would solve all problems, wouldn't it? All 3x3 posts however should be posted only here for this to work, I think.

I am so confused now, things just don't make logical sense now.
This post started because someone having problem finding 3x3 info from the Upcoming puzzle post, right? But the reality is, that post is flooded with 3x3 puzzles, and other members actually having problem finding non-3x3 info, because each type only updates once every few months/years. None of those non-3x3 player cry out loud for a separated post. And now 3x3 cubers complaining about "digging through" those posts? The one that occupying the majority of resources complaining they having problem accessing? No it does not make sense to me.

The new Moyu AI cube is a 56mm cube and it weighs 70g. One reason for the super light weight (for smartcubes) is the lack of features. There is apparently no adjustment possible for its spring system (either axis distance or elasticity) at all, and as expected for Moyu cubes these days, also nothing for magnet strength. I would expect this to be noticeably cheaper than Gan's ICarry S. Like the Gan, this one also uses 2 button batteries, with a life of about 365 hours, which is just about identical to ICarry S's. The new software looks similar to Gan's Cubestation. So, it is no longer portrait oriented like the previous one used by Moyu's Weilong AI cube. Could it have come from the same software developer that Gan uses?

In short, this looks like a budget version of ICarry S. That is not a bad cube, if it offers a more affordable but reasonably good budget smartcube. My experience with Gan's ICarry S and Robot V2 are very positive. Their should be more reviews soon. A lot will depend on how well Moyu software is when it's formally released. A smooth, bug free software will be very important for Moyu to salvage its image in this area (smartcube and software reliability and support). That is the biggest challenge for Moyu, IMO. Gan has continued to update and fix it's software, which now works very well in most of its functions.
