I was playing with my beloved Rubik's storebought 3x3, and the center piece popped off. First thing I said: YES! This is what it looked like:

Only problem in my devious little scheme to adjust the screws: They aren't there. However, I might be able to get to them if I pull off the cap with a really, really, really tiny pair of needlenose pliers. So are there screws under there for adjusting? That is the question. I'm still trying to figure out how to take that extra cap off.

ur pics arent working, but rubiks storeboughts use rivets which cant be adjusted.

yeah its not an extra cap, it IS the screw/rivet. xD i remember when i did this.. to my friend's cube :P

EDIT: just a thought - i once split the entire core and there were grooves at the end of the rivet like a normal screw, so i duno. maybe with some small pliers you can loosen/tighten the rivets. will probably take a long time though.

If you try to pull those rivets out, please record yourself and put it on youtube. You have no chance of succeeding but if we can watch you hurting yourself trying, at least you will do something informative and entertaining.

Edit: Found my picture again, click to enlarge.
