any help is appreceiated

Have no life for the month. Cube as much as your fingers let you!
Yep :)

*Also, you can learn some more random OLLs, and believe luck will make them appear in your solves at the comp.

*Practising the algorithms you already know can help too

*And don't forget to: "Slow down and look ahead" ;)

EDIT: and you won't be the last one, you can't forget the random newbies without WCA profile (like me :D)

Why?

I think you will find that speedcubing will be very unlike any other competitive activity you may have participated in before. The people you will meet, the experience you will gain and things you will learn from the other cubers far outweigh any stigma you may feel about any possibility of being "last place". If you're going into this tournament worrying about coming in last place, no offense, but you are completely missing out on what speedcubing tournaments are all about.

LOL I will enter the Belgian Open as my first tournamant and looking at the WCA listing almost everybody is at least a full minute faster than me!!!
And probably 15 years younger too ;)

Does that keep me from going? Hell no!!!

Just want to check out the atmos, see the real fast solves in real life and hope to learn someting from the other folks.

Just go there and enjoy yourself.

Don't worry about how you place, and don't expect to get the same times you get at home. I average a little under 30 seconds at home, but in comp my best time was 33 seconds, averaged 48, and got 2 One minute solves. It's more or less just fun to go and watch people solve really fast. Just the fact that you average 35 means you're probably be faster than a lot of people there. Just go there and have fun.

The only downside is being sat next to someone really fast and looking pretty terrible in comparison. It was slightly discouraging solving next to Rowe Hessler and getting times more than twice his.
