Too young to learn algorithms?

Be able to get a 30 sec average by august 9th so that I don't get eaten by the others.
I doubt it. That would definitely be reachable with a certain amount of effort (an hour or more a day), but between that and the fact that you will be nervous at your first comp will make it pretty hard to get a sub 30 average. Also, even with a 30 second average most people at comps will be faster than that anyway. Don't worry about being a little slow at a comp though because nobody will care what you average and comps are more to meet more cubers anyway.

I was wondering if anyone had a less awkward algorithim

I use the same for chameleon, but for bowtie, try this.

O25.gif

R U2 R' U' (R U R' U')x2 R U' R

It is a bit move heavy, but really easy to execute and remember.

15 moves for Bowtie... really? Yes they're easy moves but that's a lot.

The standard wide sexy-sledge algs are easy and short: (r U R' U') (r' F R F') for Chameleon, with F' moved to the beginning for Bowtie: F' (r U R' U') (r' F R).

I often use this neat <RUD> alg because I love <RUD>: R2' D' R U' R' D R U R. Push the D' with left ring finger.

Welcome!

I use [U2] l' U R D' R' U' l B for that case.
For (Lw' U') (L U) (R U') (Rw' F), I use [U'] R U R D R' U' R D' R2. I do the D with my left ring and the D' with my right index.

x R' U' L' U R U' L U x'

Love this alg.

EDIT: Fixed. Thanks TDM.

I hate it :p How do you fingertrick it?

Do the rotation and the R' move like l'. First U' with right hand flick (OH style), the last U is just a normal U. No fancy tricks here. What difficulties are you having?

EDIT: Oh, I saw the mistake in the alg.. Fixing....

DOUBLE EDIT: Looking back at my finger tricks, I do some hybrid between
x R' U' L' U R U' L U x'
And
R' F' L' F R F' L F

It's hard to explain. :/

TRIPLE EDIT:
Looking back again, I realise my execution is really choppy and ugly. Meh. I can still sub 1 it so yeah
