Hello everyone,
Im solving my rubiks storebought everyday for 1.5month already. I started with lbl (best time 43s) but since about 3 weeks I started learning fridrich. I use 2look ool and started learning the ppl. I know the half of all ppl algs so far and Im already tired of this. Every saturday I used to beat my times and I reached 32s. But this saturday I had totally no willingness to even try beating it. I know my cube is a bit crappy, I tried to sand it and now I think it locks up much often but cuts corners better. I told myself that I will buy a guhong if I learn all the ppl, but I lost the satisfaction of solving it.

Does it happen to you guys that you want just leave the cube for a week, 2 weeks or more and you dont solve it? Should I take a break in solving?

Well, there was a time when I got tired of it, stopped for about 2 months, i was averaging about 45 seconds then... I don't know, but i may have something to do with me bringing my cube to school.
My friends got impressed and wanted to learn too, and now i got 2 of them solving and about 4 others wanting to learn.

I guess it's more fun when you have friends who do it too.

But recently I got more cubes, and i love them all and solve them all the time:D

So... get moar cubes and friends, i guess.

Although all this could be total ********.

Learn Roux. You might just be getting bored of doing the same method. If you do learn Roux, get a DIY so you can do the M slices easily.

Take it in moderation. Possibly learn your algs at a slower pace. LIVE. Do things other than cubing. I'd rather be the guy that can do ___ , ___ , is ___, " no f-ing way he can do that and be fast , he has a life"

Thanks for the fast reply.

Of course i meant oll and pll.

I take it to school almost everyday. It`s my main place where I solve it (much more than at home). And I have friends who solve the cube too, but they arent very good, using lbl and not seem to learn solving it faster.

I don`t see myself learning a new method if I can`t learn a few algs...(pll)

Ok.. I'd say get a diy and possibly some other sized cubes. I just got a 2x2 and my interest in cubing just spiked.

Sub 10 with ortega, if anyone wants to know:D

Edit: yeah, get 5x5-7x7 too :D i have yet to get those myself

For me, speedsolving is something I do when I found the solutions to other cubes and I'm waiting for a new order to arrive, so I too get bored of solving the 3x3 quite often and I simply solve a different cube depending on my mood. Trying new cubes and new methods will increase your interest, specially as you see your collection grow.

I've had that problem several times before. I never get really sick of it, but sometimes I can't concentrate and I get really frustrated from getting terrible times. And there's also no one around me who can even solve a 3x3x3. I've tried to teach several people, but they either weren't very serious about it, I'm a bad teacher or it's too complicated for them(altough I seriously doubt that).

Try to play with a variety of puzzles. It will inspire you to enjoy cubing again. Speedsolving 3x3 eventually gets boring after a while...

I took a 6 month break from cubing because I didn't understood s#!t about F2L english tutorials, then said to myself, Ive want to keep doing this and went like 20hrs straight into cubing again just to understand F2L and learn 2LOLL. Buy a magic, stress relieving until it breaks.

Cubing should never feel like a chore. When cubing is fun, cube because you enjoy doing it. When cubing isn't fun anymore, then don't cube. If you stop cubing you will find either: A) at some point you miss it and will come back to it, or B) You never really miss it, and will instead find a new hobby or pursuit to pour your energy into.

I've been getting tired and frustrated with cubing lately. I haven't improved my 3x3 average at all this year because I've been practicing other events that I'm terrible at. It is so frustrated when you do thousand of solves and they don't get faster.

I took about a 1 month break around christmas time, and as soon as a got back into cubing my times were the same a they were before. I agree with the other guys, get more cubes and puzzles. 3x3's are great but can sometimes become boring. Saying this however, i have a few 2x2's, 4x4's and i dont use them as much as i use my 3x3.
I find cubing relaxing and it passes the time easily when i'm stuck on the bus or have nothing to do at home. You shouldnt find it boring. Also, i disagree on what you said about you prefer it if you have friends who can solve it. I bought my cube into school a few months ago and since then i always see people with cubes in my school. They dont even bother to learn a different method other than the beginners method -__-
