[Help Thread] Times not improving!!!!!

I am speedcubing from over a year and a half and I now average around 20s. But now I am stuck here and my times are not improving. I practice about 50 to 100 solves a day and I have a yj sulong. Please it would be very nice for your reply you can also suggest me a better cube if I need....

Yes, you probably do (in fact you practise at least as much if not more than me and we've been cubing the same time) but do you always break down into phases and have a goal for each session rather than just mindlessly solving?

How do you practice? Do you do slow solve focusing on efficiency? Do you force yourself to do things differently? Do you do drills on specific parts of your solves? Do you identify your weak points and concentrating on eliminating them individually? Coming yourself if possible helps a lot. You don't even need to show anyone - seeing yourself solve is an eye opening experience.

Hundreds of mindless solves don't count as practice. They just reinforce what you are already doing.

Get a better cube like valk 3 or gans air or whatever . Watch reviews and buy. Make sure u do ur cross in 2 seconds. Try to do it with your eyes closed.find out where you spend alot of time me. Learn full plls and maybe oll. This will help for sure. Good luck

You should probably get a better cube. The Valk 3, WeiLong GTS, Gan356 Air, and GuoGuan YueXiao are all excellent choices. Assuming you're using CFOP, do untimed solves to work on getting your F2L as efficient as possible, and work on learning 2LLL if you haven't already.
