the limit of Left Cross method to do Cross+F2l , can it finish first 2 layer within 6-8 seconds ? (if it's not extend cross)

doing Left cross will spend 1 sec , to consider OLL

are there any tutorials/hints/examples when using cross on left ?
i know - try it by intuition, but still i like to hear from other people who tried this.

i have this mental block and that is building F2L from start to finish with the same colour on top (typically white) and i just can't get over it.
and although i did not have the cube in my hands for 25 years somehow this approach stayed "encoded" in my brain and i'm unable to erase it.
if i try to turn the cube upside down (meaning my finished cross facing down), i'm instantly lost and i don't "see" what to do.
i understand the advantages but just can't do it.
(maybe I should try a new thread in beginners section about the "mental block")

so maybe this cross on left is something i should try.

Pete, if you want to change, just force yourself to. I guarantee if you force yourself to do 20 solves with cross on bottom, no matter how long it takes, you will start to get used to it. Unfortunately things just have to be done like that. To break the habit you're going to have to fight it, but it is definitely worth it.

As for myself, I do cross on left quite a bit. I find it much easier to execute than cross on bottom, normally. If you can do cross on bottom then you should be able to do cross on left. Just force it.

i use cross on left, and so does my friend who taught me. and we both avg under 17 sec, which is pretty fast considering our time spent on cubing. he avg 10-12 sec on f2l and i 7-9, mainly cuz all i do is that, which is why my LL is bad.

but anyway if u want some cross on left f2l stuff, go to google and type in "alex mason, cube" (because i forgot the URL), and go to the link that says "i came, i saw, i cubed". the site is by my friend, with all the cross on left f2l, and a couple advanced f2l on left, b/c he hasn't had time to do the rest. but eventually all will be up (and i translated the algorithms for the advanced f2l...=)...)
