A few days ago I signed up to my schools talent show auditions and did my 3 3x3s and a pyraminx and made it in and after seeing how many people are going to be there I'm scared the whole school is going to be there 800 kids guaranteed then parents will be allowed to go adding at least another hundred plus staff ads ANOTHER hundred so guaranteed I will be solving in-front of 1000 people at least with is terrifying.
Any recommendations on how I could be less nervous and lock up less.

Nobody will think that you're not good if you lock up a bit. Remember, almost none of these people will know anything about cubing. You could go up and solve a 3x3 in 2 minutes and they'd still be impressed. If you're really worried about messing up, just practise slow turning until you feel like you're going about as fast as you would be going anyway. One thing you could probably do is ask a member of the audience to scramble the cube for you.

Thanks I'm going to do that there is about 2 other cubers in my whole school Its in a month so I'm also going to try and learn my last 5 plls.

I did an audition for a talent show in my school last Thursday with the Rubiks cube too. I had the exact same problem with locking up and stuff. But I did get a PB though when auditioning. But I didn't get picked to perform :(

Just make sure you have cubes that won't pop or twist, because people might accuse you of cheating if you twist a corner or something.

Some of my friends used to do that. Sometimes they twisted it so it was a solvable position again and when I solved it they for really confused. Then I laughed at them. :p

I think this is a great for your performance, just be careful who you pick - any time I've had a non-cuber try to scramble my cubes they just squish and squash it until inevitably there are pops, and then you might not get the pieces correctly placed back into your cube thus ruining your solve. Maybe team up with somebody competent on the sly beforehand, then during showtime pretend like you're randomly picking them.

Ok thanks i will try to do that try to do that

If you can tell that a corner is twisted just by looking you can let a member of the audience scramble. If they twist a corner you can call them out on it.

(shudders at the amount of corner twists that could happen)

If more than one of them corner twists so the amount of twists is truly random, there's a 1/3 chance that it's still solvable.
Or, he could just keep a corner twisted in F2L if he can tell that it's unsolvable, put it in the front on the bottom so it's facing him, and twist it secretly.
