stuck in the mud

I was stuck at 30seconds for the longest time. All I did was practice look ahead and my cross and it suddenly jumped to 25 averages after awhile. So I would suggest practicing and doing slow solves.

Nice title, and I would agree, practise. I still don't know anywhere near all the OLL's. Learn PLL's first, I haven't finished them yet (still need all g's and c's) and I average 21-2ish.

Make sure you don't do anything else until you learn those c-perms.
haha...yeah...good luck finding those ones. I still haven't leaned mine.

btw, where do you get you -7perms from, as well as your d perms?

I would suggest practicing lookahead which means looking for upcoming pieces when solving the cube in order to help your times. For me to break the 30-28 sec slump, I just practiced alot more and learne more oll algs. Maybe yoou could also work on speed when cubing.

Don't just practice doing solves over and over. I was stuck at 22 seconds average for a very long time, I think 2 or 3 years. I was stuck like this because in all that time I didn't try to refine my technique, I just did solve after solve after solve. If you aren't constantly learning or refining your algorithm set, then your times will eventually stagnate. Practice helps sure, but if you just practice solves and don't try to learn something new, whether that be look ahead or learning algs, then your times will not improve.

Hope that helps,
Chris

Time each part of your solve... and see which part needs the most improvement.. practice your PLL's naturally and learn around 2 OLL's a day. Practice everyday.. I dropped 5 seconds in my average over the course of a week by practicing my lookahead and PLL's.

i'm currently stuck at 30 as well and in the process of learning all olls. i do see myself getting slightly better over time though. my times fluctuated wildly at first from 20s to high 30s, and they're now mostly in the 28-32 range.
