Stuck 5x5x5

Okay, my friends mom got a 5x5, yadda yadda, shes lending it to me. So basically, I have one problem. Whenever I turn this one layer, one of them next to it moves! So, it basically messes up alot of what I try to do. This is probably a stupid question, but it's just weird... or is it supposed to be like that? Thanks for any help.

If its a Rubiks brand, then its like that.

Play with it for a while, (by that I mean a few days) and the cube should loosen and that shouldn't be a problem anymore.
