Stringing a 3x2 (or 2x3?) Magic?

So at ToW yesterday, somebody gave me 15/16ths of a master magic. At the time, I was thinking "I could make a 3x2 out of this". So I gave it a try today. I used the type D and type C stringing method from Lucas's site. The only 4x2 move I can do is the one you do at the very end of the solve (Are there names for these?). The main problem is, I can't roll the magic. When I fold the magic over and try to roll it, it's just one of the tiles that don't roll, and it kinda resembles a fish. I can post videos/pictures if needed.

So if you don't see my point, I'm asking if anybody that's made a 3x2 magic could help me.
