Hey all

I'm just downright confused

OLL
PLL
F2L
U Perm
F3L skips
8 LLL = 4 L OLL, 4 L PLL
4 LLL = 2 L OLL, 2 L PLL
3 LLL = 2 L OLL, 1 L PLL
2 LLL = 1 L OLL, 1 L PLL

I mean really now :)

What is the process, from beginning to end, to solving the cube? Please describe the process and all the possibilities. If you could provide links for all the algs necessary that would be great.

For example>

Step 1

(What are we trying to accomplish before moving to the next step)
Bottom cross

Step 2

(What are we trying to accomplish before moving to the next step)
Bottom corners with respective edges (Fridrich method) (Link)

Step 3

(What are we trying to accomplish before moving to the next step)
Orient Last Layer (OLL)
(Link)
Difference between methods (2 look, 4 look, etc...)
So many (#) of possibilities

Step 4

(What are we trying to accomplish before moving to the next step)
Permutate Last Layer (PLL)
(Link)
Difference between methods (2 look, 4 look, etc...)
So many (#) of possibilities

I hope this makes sense (I think that's the correct method in order to solve it, but I have no idea)

I think the reason you are so very confused is that you went straight to a speed method. Friedrich is not a beginner's method, and you stand no chance of comprehending all of that terminology. Look up a tutorial on youtube or in google for layer by layer, 99% of people start with that.

Now oll and pll and stuff like that you really shouldnt be looking at.

This guy has some great videos, watch that, and you'll understand a lot more.

I completely understand how to solve a cube. I can do it in under 2 minutes (with a tight cube), but the only way I know is the beginners method and part of Fridrichs' F2L....after that I'm lost on what to do, what comes next and why. What are we trying to accomplish and what is it called. I have yet to find a tutorial with a complete compilation of an entire process. It's usually broken up and horribly explained.

OHH the way you worded it made it seem like you had no idea what anything meant.

Let's give this another go. Friedrich is an advanced layer by layer system. What it does is instead of putting the edges and corners in seperately, it does that simultaneously. It is much more efficient. After that OLL solves the yellow face in one alg. there's like 57 or someting algs for that, then PLL finishes off the cube, there are 21 pll's. That allows you to solve the last layer in 2 looks, hence 2 look last layer or 2lll. Right now you prob use 4lll. A great in depth website for Friedrich is http://cubestation.co.uk. That should help.

and learn intuitive f2l not the algs (look a badmephisto's youtube page for vid) no prizes for guessing his youtube name :p

I am subscribed to him already...that's where I first saw the Fridrich method :)

It still takes me some time to get the Fridrich F2L, but I was really lost past that.

Actually, learning the f2l algs are quite okay to me..
After getting to the last few cases, i suddenly realised how does f2l works. What forced me to think about how f2l worked was that I was at a camp at time and didnt have the list of algs with me.
