square-1 lube

i got a white square 1 diy not to long ago and it came lubed with some weird thick stuff (not vaseline) and its worn off. i changed the tension so its very fast and doesnt pop, should i lube it with silicone spray?

If it's already fast and doesn't pop, you don't need to lube it.

oh and the spring is kinda scratchy :S would silicone help that?

Not really. I took the spring out of mine. It turns a lot faster, but you need to tighten it a bit and be more accurate. It makes it more like an eastsheen 5x5. Low turning friction but very little corner cutting.

hmm yea thats pretty smart. the spring doesnt do much for a square-1 except make more pops. ill check it out in the morning

my square-1's tension all the way is still far to loose. it pops like every 5 seconds so i put the spring back in
