Speedstacks timer not working

Recently my Speedstacks timer decides to stop at around 0.05 seconds 50% of the time whenever I have it hooked up to csTimer. Is there any way I can fix this, it is extremely frustrating when t.rying to solve

Replace your batteries and make sure that the cable and ports are clean and free of dust. I would also check to make sure that your mic input is working properly.

My speed stacks gen 5 turned off so thought it was the battery, so I replaced them and then the light turned red and would not turn on so I opened it up but it looked fine in the inside, can anyone help me? my parents are'nt planning on buying anew one
