My Speedstacks G5 timer is not resetting, and it's on 4 pad mode for some reason (and it can't get off 4 pad either)???

Exactly what the title says - my timer is somehow not resetting and if I try to change from 4 pad to 2 pad (which I didn't even put onto 4 pad myself) by holding the reset button, then it just doesn't work.
In case you are wondering, I have already put new batteries in and it is still malfunctioning. Any tips?
Edit: This timer is 3 months old

maybe take out the batteries again and put back in so that you can “force shutdown”?

I had a similar problem on my qiyi timer but I opened it up and soldered a replacement button at school which fixed the problem. Im not sure how it would work on a speedstacks tho.
