SpeedStacks Timer G5 issue

Hello, I have a G5 timer connected to Macbook Pro with a splitter, and sometimes when I start the timer, it sometimes stops immediately at maybe around 0.0xx or 0.00x. When it is not connected to my Mac, it does not have the issue. Is there something wrong with my wire or Mac for this to be happening? The wire was bought from TheCubicle.

Might be the batteries, replace them.

Might be the batteries, replace them.

Ever since I got the timer, it has done that. No matter if the batteries are new or not.
