Speeding up PLL

Is there a good method to speeding up PLL? Most specifically recognition, I think. Just practicing algorithms will help some, but my recognition seems like it's a long time. Do you AUF to recognize or can you tell with doing an AUF?

Here is a breakdown average (Although these solves were slightly slower than my normal averages) of 15 solves.

Cross: 3.61
F2L: 14.14
2LOLL: 4.44
1L PLL: 5.03
Full Solve: 27.21

My F2L needs major improvement too, but I feel my PLL can be pushed quite a bit further, and it's difficult to tell where my OLL is at when I'm using 2-look, and have about half of 1-look learned.

For me it was just good, tedious practice; it just comes to you and you suddenly get good at PLL's. And the "p" word doesn't hurt.

Do you use an AUF for recognition? I'm considering practicing doing it without one, but I'm wondering how difficult it is to learn.

I never AUF for recognition of a PLL. I only AUF to perform the algorithm. And it isn't that hard to learn how to do that.

I'm assuming ianini is talking about 2-sided PLL recognition. JL58 created an excel program to help with learning it, which I found it quite useful. Thread here:
